My good friend and I were doing what we do a lot and talking about our daughters. Hers is a freshman this year in college and mine a sophomore. She was telling me about a few experiences that happened to her daughter (just in the last few weeks!) and it made me laugh so hard that I thought, "How many other funny stories are out there, and wouldn't it be fun to share??
So, this is our way of sharing our stories and capturing some memories (scrapbooking is so 90's-plus, I could never finish any of my well-intentioned projects...my kids don't know what a Baby Book is)
Before I turn it over, one quick story about my daughter's best friend who visited her on campus for the first time. There is a cemetery and adjoining monument sales along the road as you drive onto campus. Her friend saw all the sample headstones and said, "Why did they bury all those people so close together?!"

I am the friend that made Erika laugh so hard! My daughter is a freshman at a university far from home. She and 3 other girls were invited to the home of a local girl(who lives in my daughters dorm) for the weekend. My daughter shared her experiences with the hosting mother-the most interesting: The mother then collected $5 from each girl to cover the cost of the food they would consume while at their home! My daughter. was shocked!
I told her that meeting new families and how they live is all a part of the college experience.
